Wellington Volunteer Fire Department

The Wellington Fire Department is a volunteer department that protects the City of Wellington and surrounding areas of Carbon County - and, through interagency agreements, parts of Emery and Duchesne Counties. Its firefighters respond to structure and wildland fires, vehicle accidents and other emergencies, and they train continuously in firefighting, hazardous materials and emergency medical care.

The department is made up of around 20 trained volunteer positions, with officers and firefighters holding certifications such as Firefighter I and II, wildland firefighting, HazMat and EMT. Our Fire Department consists of 20 volunteer positions serving Carbon County and parts of Emery & Duchesne Counties through interagency agreements. All personnel have taken the National Incident Management classes (NIMS) as required by the federal government and officers have taken additional NIMS courses as required. Personnel are required to receive training as WFF1, FF1, HazMat Awareness, and Health Care Provider First Aid/CPR. In addition, some personnel have received FF2, HazMat Operations, EMT or EMT-A certification.
